Do You Remember Me?

As twilight embraced

The dark mountain-scape,

I felt my thoughts tremble in the breeze

Like the fresh-bloomed leaves,

And I wondered if perhaps

You would recognize me.

If amidst the 12 o’clock rush

I brushed past you,

Would you notice?

And would you focus,

And maybe recognize

The daughter you let down?

If sometime during rush-hour,

You see me waiting to cross the street,

Will you remember the way I looked once?

Will you stare stunned?

Would you remember everything

That you lost?

As the moon rose above

The fading silhouette of distant mountains,

I felt the breeze echo my sigh

And I asked myself why

I even care at all

If you’d recognize me.
