Self-Portrait (Reminder)

Eyes like wide pools

Of hope and heat

Melting into endless depths

Of unseen dreams,

And her silken lips are pursed

As if she holds the secrets of

the universe,

In the curve of her hips.

The sun lives in her skin,

She carries herself

Like liquid gold runs in

Her veins—

As if she is Hathor

Her heart beats with

 boundless affection

Yet her softness gives way

To her coarse curls of onyx

And she personifies strength

She shines like the stars

And her love is a rare elixir.

Goddess of her own dreams,

She is the personification

Of what it means

To be whole
